I’ve always had painful periods, and endured ovarian pain during sex. I’ve seen many gynaecologists – but no one has ever indicated the underlying issue which has had a physical and psychological impact.

When I was 25, an ER doctor finally did tests, and diagnosed me with endometriosis. Naming the condition so I could educate myself broke my isolation and will help my quality of life.

Don’t accept the so-called experts’ dismissals. If you’re experiencing pain, you need to find answers. Keep searching for the diagnosis.

I’m currently traveling around Europe and enjoying the flexibility of living and working in different places. I don’t want children, so I use a contraceptive intrauterine device (IUD) instead of taking a daily pill.

Even though I don’t plan to have kids, understanding what’s happening with my uterus seems important. I want to stay informed about my body and its wellbeing. I have regular tests with my doctor to monitor all other major organs in my body, but im not sure how to track my uterine health.
